Join us for a professional development event designed to help you support children during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to funding provided by the Maryland State Department of Education, the registration fee for this event is only $5.
This professional development series consists of one 3-hour training session, and two 1-hour follow up technical assistance sessions. The series is designed to encourage in-depth learning that supports each participant’s ability to implement strategies and techniques that support infants and toddlers with special needs. In order to receive a certificate of completion for core of knowledge hours, providers must attend the entire series, including both technical assistance sessions.
Training Session
What’s in Their Backpack: The Impact of Trauma – This engaging workshop discusses the affects and impacts that trauma can have on the brain. It not only affects children in the moment, but throughout life if untreated. By understanding the affects of trauma on the brain, we can gain insight into children’s behavior.

Technical Assistance Sessions
Technical Assistance for this series will be provided by a Project ACT Inclusion Specialist who specializes in providing early childhood mental health consultation. She will offer insight and expertise on providing care for young children experiencing difficulties adjusting to the COVID-19 changes, help each participant create an implementation plan, and be available to answer questions and facilitate a thorough understanding of the topic. Attendance at BOTH sessions is required to receive a certificate.

September 28, 2020 (6:30 pm-7:30 pm)
Core of Knowledge Area: Professionalism (2 hours)
**Certificates are given AFTER the second technical assistance session, please plan accordingly.**

Each participant will need individual access to a computer, smartphone or tablet. Specific webinar access details will be sent prior to the training.
