In this virtual workshop, Dr. Lucretia Carter Berry will discuss proactive strategies for instilling cultural and racial competency in young children through intentional and strategic approaches. Participants will learn how to move beyond reactive responses and empower students to embrace diversity by igniting curiosity, fostering comprehension, and building connections across boundaries. Dr. Berry, a distinguished author, educator, and speaker, will share research-supported methods for facilitating open conversations about race and culture. Attendees will leave with tangible strategies and confidence to navigate these conversations with young learners using the ‘Hues of You’ activity book and Framework developed by Dr. Berry.
