Project ACT is thrilled to announce our 2024 Early Childhood Professional Development Conference. Our conference provides education and professional growth as well as networking opportunities for the early childhood care and education communities throughout the state of Maryland.
Conference attendees will receive a certificate for 6 Core of Knowledge hours, approved by the Maryland State Department of Education.

The Rhythm of Inclusion: Music as a Method for Equitable Learning for Neurodivergent Children
Presented by Corinne Zmoos, MS, CCC-SLP
In this highly engaging keynote presentation, participants will discover how intentional musical choices and experiences allow autistic and neurodivergent children more equitable access to language and learning in the classroom. Zmoos will cover how neurodivergent children process sounds differently, how music serves as a universal language, and how to build children’s social skills through musical play. Additionally, there will be a discussion on the role of music in supporting sensory integration for children with sensory sensitivities as well as resources and tools for families to continue musical-linguistic inclusion at home. Participants will leave the keynote session with strategies and information needed to advocate for the integration of intentional music in early childhood inclusion for neurodivergent children to enhance their access language and learning.
