Including Little Learners Series- Traumatic Events: Helping Our Children Cope During and After a Crisis

Join us for a professional development event designed to help you support children birth to three years old who have special needs. This event is funded by the Maryland State Department of Education. Thanks to this funding, the registration fee for this event is only $5.
This professional development series consists of one 3-hour training session, and two 1-hour follow up technical assistance sessions. The series is designed to encourage in-depth learning that supports each participant’s ability to implement strategies and techniques that support infants and toddlers with special needs. In order to receive a certificate of completion for core of knowledge hours, providers MUST attend the entire series, including both technical assistance sessions.
Training Session
Traumatic Events: Helping Our Children Cope During and After a Crisis -This informative and interactive training provides an understanding of personal/family, community and global traumatic events as well as how such events may possibly affect children in their development. Practical strategies are provided focusing on ways to help children feel safe, empowered, and eager to engage in regular activities. *It is recommended that participants take “Promoting Resiliency in Early Childhood” prior to receiving this training.*

Technical Assistance Sessions
Enhanced Technical Assistance for this series will be provided in partnership with UMD: Center for Excellence in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health. A clinical social worker will be the guest speaker during each technical assistance session. She will offer insight and expertise on providing care for young children who have been impacted by trauma. Attendance at BOTH sessions is required to receive a certificate.

October 27, 2020 (6:30 pm-7:30 pm)
November 10, 2020 (6:30 pm-7:30 pm)
Core of Knowledge Area: Professionalism (2 hours)
**Certificates for the entire series are given AFTER the second technical assistance session, please plan accordingly.**

Each participant will need individual access to a computer, smartphone or tablet. Specific webinar access details will be sent prior to the training.
