The Office of Inspector General (OIG) for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is conducting a study on the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) subsidy program that is examining the adequacy of States’ subsidy payment rates and how these rates compare to prices charged by child care providers. This week the OIG is mailing a survey to a random sample of 1,000 child care centers and 1,000 family child care homes across the country. The survey questions focus on descriptive information about each provider’s child care program, their charges for care, and their experiences with the State’s CCDF subsidy program, if applicable.
