Using Reflective Practice Principles During Observational Assessments

During this intermediate training, providers will strengthen their reflective practice capabilities while taking assessments of young children. In addition to collecting observational notes, providers will deepen their understanding of the “why” behind their noticing’s, whether this information is from the adult’s preconceived ideas or from additional information surrounding the child’s development. By focusing on more in depth reasons behind observational assessments, providers can give more tailored care back to the young child.
