Including Littler Learners Series: Learning the Basics-Down Syndrome

Join us for a professional development event designed to help you support children birth to three years old who have special needs. This event is funded by the Maryland State Department of Education. Thanks to this funding, the registration fee for this event is only $5.
This professional development series consists of one 2-hour training session, and two 1-hour follow up technical assistance sessions. The series is designed to encourage in-depth learning that supports each participant’s ability to implement strategies and techniques that support infants and toddlers with special needs.
In order to receive a certificate of completion for core of knowledge hours, providers MUST attend the entire series, including all 3 parts.
Part 1: April 6, 2022 (6:30 pm-8:30 pm)
This training will provide participants with a foundational understanding of Down syndrome. Through engaging activities and discussions, participants will learn strength based approaches to working with children with Down syndrome.
Core of Knowledge Area for Part 1: Special Needs (2 hours)
Part 2: April 13, 2022 – 6:30pm-7:30pm
Part 3: April 27, 2022 – 6:30pm-7:30pm
We will be joined by advocates from the Down Syndrome Association of Maryland to learn more about inclusion for all children for Part 2 and 3.
Core of Knowledge Area for Parts 2 & 3: Professionalism (2 hours).

Each participant will need individual access to a computer, smartphone or tablet. Specific webinar access details will be sent prior to the training.
