Promoting Positive Self Identity in Boys

Date/Time
Date(s) - Monday, September 27, 2021
6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

This training is $5 courtesy of the Baltimore County Early Childhood Advisory Council.

Boys in early childhood are disproportionately being expelled, suspended, and disciplined. This can impact boys’ sense of identity well into their later development. Therefore, it is important for early childhood educators to recognize the role they play in promoting a positive sense of self. During this training, participants will explore how specific forms of identity including culture, gender, and ability are developed in young boys. Participants will also utilize anti-biased goals to develop actionable strategies to use within their own environments to promote positive identity in all boys.

Core of Knowledge Area: Child Development (1 hour), Curriculum (1 hour) and Special Needs (1 hour)
