Mariposa Training Cohort

Project ACT is seeking Child Care Providers in Baltimore, Harford and Cecil counties to participate in a 13 week professional development series focused on building emotional resilience in children, reduce adult stress, and reducing challenging behaviors.

Mariposa

Project ACT is partnering with Mariposa Education to offer this transformative training experience to the child care community. The cohort sessions will take place on Tuesday evenings starting September 5th, and will run for 13 weeks ending in December. The series includes:

  • 1-Hour Workshop and Orientation
  • 8-Module Comprehensive Educator Course: Promoting Social-Emotional Resilience (16 Child Development COK Hours)
    • Each module includes a 1-hour live session and 1 hour of self-paced online work
  • 4-Module Educator Course: Fostering Strong Parent-Teacher Communication (2 Child Development COK Hours, 4 Professionalism COK Hours, 2 Community COK Hours)
    • Each module includes a 1-hour live session and 30 minutes of self-paced online work
  • Stipend of $200 for those who successfully complete the training program

An application is required and spaces are limited. All applicants working in licensed child care programs in Baltimore, Harford or Cecil counties are eligible, however some preference will be given to groups of 3-5 staff working at the same child care program. Attendance at all sessions is required to receive COK hours. Absences may reduce or eliminate eligibility for a stipend.

Application deadline is July 28th, 2023 by 2pm. Participation is free for selected applicants.
